In this hilarious 1920’s musical, a man shares with the audience his favorite record - the 1928 musical The Drowsy Chaperone. As he plays the record, the whimsical show comes to life in his apartment. Mix in two lovebirds on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and a sleepy chaperone, and you have the ingredients for a show that will have everyone in stitches! First Act invites young actors looking for a challenge in comedy to join us this summer for a roaring good time!
From novice to experienced young performers, our summer production camps provide a universal approach to children's theatre that embraces diversity and encourages inclusion and self-esteem. Audition skills are introduced and refined. Creative movement, vocal strength, memory development, acting technique, singing, dancing and group cooperation are fostered throughout the entire five day camp. The fun culminates in a FREE fully-costumed performance for family and friends!
