Tartuffe!

First Act delves into the world of 18th century France with this Classic Comedy of Manners! Tartuffe, a crafty schemer posing as a pious holy man, befriends Orgon, a rich man who is so swept away by Tartuffe’s charisma and his promise of an uncomplicated holy life that Orgon gives him everything, including his daughter Marianne’s hand in marriage and the deed to his house! Seeing their inheritance snatched away, Orgon’s wife, family and servants try every scheme they can devise to expose Tartuffe’s hypocrisy. It takes everyone’s efforts to bring about their schemes and hilarity ensues as they try one thing after another without success! With a host of comical and romantic characters, fanciful costumes and over the top shenanigans, this is one timeless First Act experience you won’t want to miss!

Our Centre Stage program embraces a diverse community and is open to students in 8th through 12th grade. With a focus on process-based theatre, Centre Stage invites students to enhance their current skills with challenging scripts that expand on movement, characterization, vocal technique, with an overall goal of achieving greater self-esteem and encouraging inclusion and personal confidence.
