It is 1192 and times are hard in Merry Old England. King Richard the Lion-heart is away, fighting in the crusades, while his brother, Prince John rules the kingdom in his place. Greedy and hungry for power, the Prince confiscates lands, homes, livestock and coins from everyone—all in the name of the King. When Lady Rosalind’s lands are taken, she flees to the forest of Sherwood, disguised as “Robin Hood”—an outlaw. Gathering other disgruntled English men and women around her, she makes plans to defy Prince John and win back her lands! Based on the Medieval English folk legend, this First Act original is full of enough mischievous characters, humor, stealth and swashbuckling to create a fun-filled challenge for all youth actors!
From novice to experienced young performers, our after-school production classes provide a universal approach to children's theatre that embraces diversity and encourages inclusion and self-esteem. Audition skills are introduced and refined. Creative movement, vocal strength, memory development, acting technique, singing, dancing and group cooperation are fostered throughout the eight weeks of rehearsal. The fun culminates in a FREE fully-costumed performance for family and friends!
